Among its many species, the undisputed star is the payara, or vampire fish, a fierce and acrobatic predator that tests even the most skilled fishermen. The river also holds an abundance of tropical catfish, often seen ambushing prey near rocky outcrops or aggressively striking lures and flies.
With its dynamic currents, towering boulders, and seasonal fish migrations, the Guayabero River remains one of Colombia’s best-kept secrets for world-class sport fishing.

Our journey begins in Bogotá, from where we will embark on an adventure deep into Colombia’s wild heart. After an exciting journey, we will arrive at our secluded camp on the banks of the Guayabero River.
Designed for comfort in the middle of the wilderness, our camp offers everything an angler needs: spacious tents with individual beds, shared bathrooms, internet access, and a carefully curated menu to keep you energized throughout your stay. With a maximum capacity of six guests, the experience remains exclusive and immersive.
For six full days, you’ll explore the river’s best fishing grounds, guided by experienced locals who know every hidden spot where the big fish lurk. Whether casting for payara in the rapids or targeting trophy catfish in deeper waters, each day promises unforgettable action in one of Colombia’s most spectacular fishing destinations.

From the moment you leave Bogotá until your return, everything is taken care of. The package includes all transportation to and from the camp, daily meals and hydration, and even the bait needed for catfish fishing. Each angler is also covered by a medical insurance plan for added peace of mind.
To ensure a top-tier fishing experience, every three anglers will have a dedicated boat and guide, allowing for personalized attention and access to the best spots on the river. At the camp, each guest will have their own spacious tent, providing comfort and privacy after long days on the water.
We take care of every detail so you can focus entirely on the fishing. The only things not included are your personal fishing gear and the lures or flies you wish to use.
